Crutcher Takes the Helm at Health Sciences Center of Emphasis

Health care is a rapidly changing field. Professionals must have training to keep up with the latest techniques and procedures. The Volunteer State Community College Health Sciences Continuing Education Center of Emphasis can help. The Center offers continuing education training for health care professionals of many types including EMTs, paramedics and hospital employees.

“Our goal is to expand our offerings for more healthcare providers in other areas as well,” said Terri Crutcher, the new director of the Health Sciences Continuing Education Center of Emphasis. “We’re also open to new ideas for classes that professionals think we should offer.”

Crutcher is a familiar face for many health care professionals because of her work with the highly popular Vol State Radiologic Technology Program. Crutcher coordinated student clinical placements with area hospitals and doctors’ offices.

“I speak the same language and understand the specific needs of health care providers,” Crutcher said. “I know how important continuing education is for certification and licensure.”

New classes coming up at the Center include Basic Life Support Provider, Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider, Critical Care Paramedic and Ultrasound Patient Assessment. New classes are added every few weeks. For more information visit the Center web page at Readers will be able to view the latest classes and also sign up for an email newsletter of class offerings.
