Vol State in the News

Vol State Livingston faculty member and Faculty Council Chair Scott McMillan appears in the Chronicle of Higher Education this week for a paper he co-authored on the issue of non-tenured faculty and the problems associated with long-term employment when there is no tenure track. He recently presented the paper at the American Association of University Professors. Congrats to Scott on both the paper presentation at the conference and the article: http://chronicle.com/article/Plan-Offers-Better-Pay-Job/132273/

You may remember the recent Venus transit watching event here at the college that our Astronomy folks held in conjunction with the Cumberland Astronomical Society. Two of those observers sent their cool transit video to the national Astronomy Magazine blog. It's worth checking out and the college gets a nice plug as well: http://cs.astronomy.com/asy/b/astronomy/archive/2012/06/08/venus-transit-time-lapse-june-5-2012.aspx

Here's another profile of President Faulkner, this time from the Cumberland Business Journal: http://ucbjournal.com/news.php?id=893
